Swara Bhasker has always been candid and honest about all her takes and opinions in life. The actress who bought a house in Mumbai in 2016, thought it was time to redesign it and give it a completely new vibe in 2019. However since 2019, the actress has been doing her house and it is finally in 2021 she moves into her ‘new old house’ – as she calls it.
Swara held a seven hour long griha pravesh puja in her house which was finally refurbished after 3 years. Speaking about the long journey to get her house refurbished, she said, “I decided to renovate the house in 2019 and the process began in February. We stripped it down to beams and columns and redid the entire layout. Now the house is new, but it still exudes the old and familiar vibe. So, it’s my ‘new old house’.”
The remodelling took so long because of the two lockdowns it faced over the process. While the work was shut for six months last year and then this year too when the lockdown was announced in March, the house work had come to a halt. Swara further adds that it’s her perfectionist nature that took her further time, “I am a control freak and need to select everything myself — from the desk knobs to bathroom fittings. And now, it looks just like I had visualised!”
Well, it’s not just her new-old-house that’s home to her but even this city. Coming from Delhi, Swara has now made Mumbai her Home and she has given her heart to this crazy city. “Mumbai has given me my identity and I cannot imagine working anywhere else. Although Delhi always felt like home because my parents live here, now I feel rooted in Mumbai, too.” The city loves her too! Here’s congratulating the actress on her refurbished home.
