Modern Love Mumbai – the Indian version of the critically acclaimed US anthology Modern Love is set to take over our OTT screens on May 13. Comprising six stories, ace filmmakers such as Vishal Bhardwaj, Nupur Asthana, Shonali Bose, Dhruv Sehgal, Hansal Mehta and Alankrita Srivastava have come on board for a riveting journey of tales being told.

Most of the filmmakers took to social media to share the announcement and captioned it with, “Making way into your (heart emoji).”

To break it down, Shonali Bose’s Raat Rani features  Fatima Sana Shaikh, Bhupendra Jadawat and Dilip Prabhavalkar, Hansal’s Baai with Pratik Gandhi, Tanuja and Ranveer Brar in pivotal roles.

Next story is by Vishal Bhardwaj titled Mumbai Dragon and the cast includes names such as Yeo Yann Yann, Meiyang Chang, Wamiqa Gabbi and Naseeruddin Shah.

Beautiful Wrinkles is being helmed by Alankrita Srivastava and features Sarika, Danesh Razvi, Ahsaas Channa and Tanvi Azmi.

Dhruv Sehgal of Little Things fame is directing I Love Thane which will have Masaba Gupta, Ritwik Bhowmik, Prateik Babbar, Aadar Malik and Dolly Singh on board and Nupur’s directorial Cutting Chai will have Dolly Singh, Citrangada Singh and Arshad Warsi stepping in.

Produced by Pritish Nandy Communications, he went on to share how all these heart-touching stories will have Mumbai deeply embedded in the crux of the storyline.

Speaking to a leading publication he shared,  “With the most wonderful cast of masters and contemporary, Indian and international actors and some of the finest directors, writers and music creators that we have today, Modern Love Mumbai beautifully negotiates through the different shades of love that Mumbai, the city of dreams, throws up and celebrates. I am confident that every story in this anthology series will tug at and win the audiences’ hearts.”
