Ajay Devgn is one of the most respected actors in the industry today. He took over the director’s seat with his 2008 film U Me Aur Hum, followed by Shivaay (2016). Now he is ready to set the screen on fire with his much anticipated third directorial Runway 34 which releases on April 29.

He plays the role of a pilot in this thriller who makes an emergency landing that gets embroiled in an investigation. Amitabh Bachchan plays the role of the investigating officer in the film.

The film is based on a true story and Ajay Devgn plays the role of Captain Vikrant Khanna who aims for a clandestine landing after taking off from an international destination. The film had its trailer launch recently where Ajay shared with a leading daily how the story truly intrigued him when writers Sandeep Kewlani and Aamil Keeyan Khan brought it to his attention two years back.

He also revealed how he had initially agreed to direct it but then eventually decided to play a role too. He then decided to bring it under his home banner Ajay Devgn Ffilms. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, Rakul Preet Singh, and Angira Dhar in key roles.

Ajay Devgn went on to discuss how there was no second alternative to Amitabh Bachchan in the film, “In this film, for Mr. Bachchan’s role, if he wouldn’t have agreed, I don’t even know if I would be able to cast (any other actor). I don’t think I would be making the film.”

He further added “But this is the first time I worked with him in a full-fledged film (as a director). I’ve known him ever since I was a child. I would visit his set often. Later, I went on to work with him in nearly six films. The energy and dedication he works with is amazing. Even if he is facing any problem, once he’s on set, he forgets everything. I feel inspired to do better work when I look at him.”

Co-produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak, Vikrant Sharma, Sandeep Harish Kewlani, Tarlok Singh Jethi, Hasnain Husaini, and Jay Kanujia, it is one of the most anticipated high-octane thrillers to be released this year.
